it right. We did it in style.
We
got ourselves an RV!
29 feet of rolling home folks. And I'll tell you, this is
by
far the
BEST way to take in an endurance race; hell ANY
race! We arrived in Orlando on Friday afternoon and caught a cab right to el Monte RV. For under $500 we got a 29' cab over RV with all the amenities 6 guys could want (fridge, stove, heat, and a generator). The ride to the track basically sucked. 2.5 hours to go 25 miles! argggh..... Once we got to the speedway we B-lined it to the Will-Call window and got our 'Super Ticket' passes. Then it was off to shop for supplies and food. We made it back to the track around 2300 to get in a queue for enterance into the waiting line for track entry. Careful preplanning (asking the right people the right questions) got us into the correct line to wait for the Turn 2 lot to open at 0000. HELLO? At 2330 people started firing up their rigs to gun for the entrance. A very large RV parked ahead of us was bunked down for the night so we slipped by them (and 3 others) to get into the real line. $40 later we were ready to turn in for the night, parked amongst hundreds of other vehicles in line for the 0600 opening of the backstretch gates. I kid you not when I say we were in the middle of an RV sea! After a couple of cold sodas I settled |
